WorldBeat Center Lease Signing Ceremony and Celebration
WorldBeat family, we have incredible news to share! After many years of negotiations through various administrations, the City of San Diego is near granting us our first 25-year lease! This has been a long time coming, and many of you have fought with us throughout our journey. We are extremely grateful to all of our community supporters, volunteers, staff, guests, and artists who have believed in our mission and contributed to creating the Center we have today. We would also like to thank our lawyers, City staff and Real Estate Assets for making this lease a reality.
This lease means so much to us because it establishes certainty, and we are radiating with joy knowing that future generations will be able to continue to be a part of the important programming we provide at the Center. We need cultural centers in every city; we provide a place for the preservation of cultural traditions, a place for people to learn about other cultures, a place to continue sharing our history, a place to share and learn music and dance, and a place for many to call home.
